Anime Review: Dr. Stone, "Those Who Know The Rules; Those Who Make Them" (Season 4, Episode 11)
Is the Kingdom of Science done for?
When Stanely’s plane is spotted, Senku and Ryusui launch theirs. They engage in an intense aerial battle where it seems like Stanley will be victorious. However, Senku has a trick up his sleeve like always.
Before they took off, he created acetylene gas bottles. When they’re in the air, he throws them at Stanley’s plane which messes with his engine, causing him to crash. Due to an accident, Senku exploded one in their plane, sending them crashing to the ground.
Luckily, neither Senku nor Ryusui got injured. When they walk over to Stanley’s plane, they are met by a barrage of gunshots…except none of the shots hit them. They know that Stanley, the infamous sniper, would never miss a shot.
Taking off their battle gear, it’s revealed that the pilot isn’t Stanley, but a woman in his place. This raises the question—where’s Stanley? The answer isn’t something the Kingdom of Science wants to find out.
While the battle in the air is taking place, Senku’s crew has their eyes locked on the skies. As a result, they had no idea a submarine was about to crash into their ship. That said, the submarine was so deep underwater that none of them would’ve thought to look beneath the boat. A perfect surprise attack.
As soon as the submarine emerges from the water, it blows up half of their ship and their strongest warriors raid the boat. To make matters worse, they are Xeno’s strongest fighters. Senku’s entire crew is captured and it seems as if all hope is lost.
Making their way to the lower level of the ship, Xeno’s guards are met by Moz and Matsukaze who attack and disarm them. A sliver of hope emerges as they make their way to the top deck where the crew is being held as prisoners. They begin to face off with Xeno’s fighters, but of course, Xeno has a trump card.
Right when it seems like the Kingdom of Science is coming out on top, Stanley pops out of nowhere, shooting Moz and Matsukaze, leaving them unable to fight. At the same time, Tsukasa’s group breaks into Dr. Xeno’s lab. With no one to protect him, Senku’s fighters have Xeno hostage.
Now that both groups are at a stalemate, what type of agreement will they come to?
The anime episode is full of twists and turns with the audience constantly questioning which side will come out victorious. This episode of Dr. Stone definitely had me on the edge of my seat. I can’t wait to see how the last episode of the season finale pans out.
